About Us
Welcome to Bods
BODS is a Sydney based social golf club that was started to enable a few mates to have an opportunity to catch up for a regular beer and a game of golf. We play at different courses each month and have events and formats that give everyone an opportunity to win.
The club owes much of it's success and longevity to Scott (The Dog) Muir, who put in countless hours of his own time to get the idea off the ground and give it the momentum over the last 22 years and counting. Scott was elected as a Life Member in December 2019.
Membership has surged in the last few years and at the end of 2024 we have 26 paid members
Membership limit will be set at 30 for 2025 so we have a few spots available.
We ask all players to pay up front at the first game of the year that you play.
Read below to understand how it all began.
8 December 2024
Dog romps in at Home to win Christmas Cheer Day.
Xmas Cheer Day is always a great celebration of everything we have done during the year at Bods.
This year was no different and Campbelltown was in good condition despite the rain over the last week.
Some very good scores But Scott Muir romped in with a great 59 to win by 5 shots. The top 6 all broke handicap and lost shots as we go into season 2025.
Highlights of the day are always the Club Championships. Darren Shields won his first A grade title with a 77 and beating Josh Peterson last years champion by 10 shots. Tyrone Ford won B Grade with a 88 and beating Mick Smith by 5 shots. Tyrone last won the B Grade title in 2004. C grade had our biggest field ever. Scott Muir and Gary Jeffery both broke a 100 but Scott won with a 95. Scott has become the first player in the club to win A, B and now C grade title.
We also were pleased to announce the election of 2 new Life Members- Gary Jeffery and Darren Cheney. Both have been great supporters of the club the elevation Life Membership is greatly deserved thank you both for helping us to keeping our great club going.
We had our annual general meeting and all were re elected except John Bruker replaced Gary Jeffery as Vice President. John is an ideas man and will be a fascinating inclusion to the committee. Thank you Gary for all your help. Darren Shields attempt to be Assistant Handicapper was unsuccesful but his analogy of Airforce One going down and Dog and the Smiths on it was fascinating he wants to be 4th in line for the throne. His offer was hilariously declined.
All that played paid their membership for next year which is great. We ask that for those that didn't play today we are asking that when you play your first game next year you pay your membership fees.
Also we have several vacant membership spots so for those that have players interest please send email address/phone number and Golflink details and will be happy to get them in our group at our first game next year.
Hoping all of you and families have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year and see you all at Bods in 2025.
