About Us
Welcome to Bods
BODS is a Sydney based social golf club that was started to enable a few mates to have an opportunity to catch up for a regular beer and a game of golf. We play at different courses each month and have events and formats that give everyone an opportunity to win.
The club owes much of it's success and longevity to Scott (The Dog) Muir, who put in countless hours of his own time to get the idea off the ground and give it the momentum over the last 22 years and counting. Scott was elected as a Life Member in December 2019.
Membership has surged in the last few years and as at March 2025 we have 27 paid members and only 5 unfinancial.
Membership limit will be set at 32 for 2025 so there are no spotsd available
We ask all unfinancial players to pay up front at the next game of the year that you play.
Read below to understand how it all began.
20 July 2025-Camden
Schweizer sweeps through for win at home course.
Scotty wins first Match play tiltle.
Well it was a cold morning at Camden but Jason Schweizer was very hot with a win on his home course at Camden. Golf course is in good shape and i must say great organising by the pro shop.
A smaller group of 14 but lots of smiles on faces which i always like to see. We have now had 285 games as Bods and i think the club is in the best shape after 25 years.
Congrats to Brian "Scotty" McCulloch who won his first Match play title beating Chris Smith in an impressive display and he clearly got rid of his nervous energy before the game by bagging me its alright Scotty i can take it. Special mention to Chris Smith who was playing in his 7th Match play final.
Congrats to Victor Mourinho who won his first Chips award and he gets to wear the wig for the first time took off early to avoid wearing the wig but will get to wear it at Carnarvon.
Some handbraking is starting to happen as we get close to the Bods Tour.
Point score is getting interesting will be interesting if Darren Cheney can hold off the challengers as he leads by 5.
Chris Smith has held the Bods ranking for the 5th month in a row but the Ideas man John Bruker is coming fast.
On the subject of fines we had a card error with Mick Smith which will cost him and Quirky at the next game.
John Bruker The ideas man also got fined today as he had a chance to put forward some ideas but had nothing.
Bods Tour is only 3 months away and we have 16 going in the next couple of weeks we will be reaching out to get accomodation money we are hoping to keep the tour cost at $350.
All is still not well with the world today as Josh Peterson he has now gone 6 months without a nearest the pin.
Finally last Wednesday we got to say goodbye to a Bods original Kevin H Hadfield who played 33 games with the club and major contribution was he was the organiser for the first Bods Tours to Cessnock was liked by all and will be very missed. He had a great laugh and enjoyed life and loved the Dragons. We will miss you H.
Next game in 2025 is at Carnarvon on 24 August 2025 6.18 am start - Stroke- Putting Comp- We have only 20 spots so get in early.
