About Us
Welcome to Bods
BODS is a Sydney based social golf club that was started to enable a few mates to have an opportunity to catch up for a regular beer and a game of golf. We play at different courses each month and have events and formats that give everyone an opportunity to win.
The club owes much of it's success and longevity to Scott (The Dog) Muir, who put in countless hours of his own time to get the idea off the ground and give it the momentum over the last 22 years and counting. Scott was elected as a Life Member in December 2019.
Membership has surged in the last few years and at the end of 2024 we have 26 paid members
Membership limit will be set at 30 for 2025 so we have a few spots available.
We ask all players to pay up front at the first game of the year that you play.
Read below to understand how it all began.
19 January 2025
Dazza wins over Marcel Marceau at wetlogged Georges River.
Well first i must say well done to the 9 players that decided to play today the first game of 2025 predictions of wet weather did not happen and the course was in good condition. There were some shocking excuses of why players dropped out the best being John Bruker stating he was a 50/50 chance of being too drunk to play.
Also a big thank you to Georges River staff who let me have a cart even though carts were barred for the day.
Only 8 shots between first and last today but Darren Cheney registered his 12th win at the club outlasting our Marcel Marcea- Brett White.
At the start of the day Dog advised any errors on cards would be penalised and a donation to the fine jar to raise funds for a new bottle of scotch for me. Well after being abused by Scotty all day for slow play is it no surprise i get the last laugh. Whose card was incorrect and instead of cvoming 4th he comes 3rd and now loses 2 shots for the day.Thank you Scotty. Both Scotty and Darren Cheney will be fined at the next game. We will also introduce an event fine but the good news is you can only get fined once. We will keep under wraps what it will be.
I won the Chips for a record 24th time can't keep up with the supply of chips lately but i still dont like cheese and onion.
The new year started with all being well with the world as Josh Peterson got the first nearest the pin of the year. The catchphrase is becoming common amongst members.
Congrats to Matt Spalding who got his first top 6 placing since joining the club. The Professor is becoming a popular member.
We are getting an influx of new members which may make it tough to get a start in coming months. We will check with Penrith if we can increase to 24 for next game.
